February Event Updates!
The February event begins...in January! No actually it won't really be in full swing until February but as promised your mods are here to deliver the 411 beforehand. Technical gaming details first...
If you haven't put your character on the Taken List yet, please do so. Characters still posting to the community but not on the Taken List by Feb 1 will have to be suspended from play until they're posted to the Taken List. This isn't just housekeeping for the game it also prevents others from submitting an application for your character! So please do it asap, thank you!
And...
Applications will be closed for one cycle from Feb 13 to Feb 26 in order to help facilitate the event. We will not be accepting any applications at that time but will resume accepting Slot Applications on Feb 27. By then the application cycle will continue normally. Any character approved during the event is free to use the event as a means of introduction to the City.
Now on to the main attraction...
So there's sand turning up in places. Weird huh? But not too unusual, after all it's just sand, what can it do to you? Famous last words. After Jan 31, the Desert Days curse, the sand just doesn't seem to go away. A whole week later into February sand is still turning up in all sorts of normally not-sandy places. You'll notice the weather warming, any snow that was there is melting and drying pretty quicklyinto sand, like the City's skipping spring and heading right towards a hot summer. By the second week of February what you thought was your chair has suddenly crumbled into sand. There's a hole in your roof and if you look closely the edges of that hole look suspiciously like sand. Paint on your house is drying up and dropping sand. It seems like sand is taking over and, well, that's exactly what's happening.
On Feb 15 something big, really really big, goes down (or should we say comes up?!) and we don't want to give away the whole plot just yet but we can assure you there's a potential for characters to permanently or temporarily lose all their possessions and possibly their lives, or have them threatened at the least! Of course we always have a way for players to 'opt-out' of all that destruction so to speak and this plot is no exception, so yes if you are uncomfortable with your character losing their belongings and/or having their lives threatened there will be a way for your character to avoid this chaos. Likewise if you change your mind and decide to participate in mayhem days after the big date there'll be a way to make characters dive back in too. Curses will be posted as scheduled, there is a plot-related reason for why there are curses even during an event. We'll roll out more details closer to the Feb 15 date.
With that said...there will be no How's My Driving for February. HMD will be pushed to the second weekend of March. If you have any questions so far please don't hesitate to ask.
