Oooh, maybe! But I do think a lot of people wouldn't jive with it if just for not being able to use your own friends list page. Even though this option has always been available in our LJ game, I know a lot of people who prefer community based still didn't want to join because of it, even though they had that workaround to avoid missing people.

I mean, if we went this route, could always just put a link to the poly's friend page in your layout, which annihilates that sort of "extra step" feeling. But this method I feel may end up sort of complicated to new comers?
