No clue about the canon, but his desert post amused me so much, and I think part of that has to do with the player's writing ability, so whether or not it was IC? I do know I ENJOYED it. His personality, in general, is just amusing to bounce Ken off of, since Ken is pretty straight-forward logic, even if he does things impulsively.
