On Things Which Have Not Yet Come to Pass

Hello, Polychromatids:

As you know, February marks the last month of gameplay here at POLYchromatic. The calendar is now up and, as you can see, the 22nd to the 28th mark the Endgame Plot. We're not going to spill everything about that plot yet--it's customary to keep a few secrets to ourselves, especially about big plots. But we're going to spoil a little bit of the ending so everyone can get their plots and thoughts organized.

We want, more than anything, for all player characters to have the opportunity for a happy ending.

That said, all player characters will be required to leave the City at the conclusion of the endgame plot. You will see why and how as the story unfolds. But don't fret: remember, there's a happy ending in there.

All characters will have to leave the City, yes. But they are by no means required to go back to their canon worlds. You read that right. They can go back to their own worlds, but they don't have to.

Characters will be given the chance to go anywhere they please at the conclusion of the endgame storyline--their canon world or anywhere else. So a character who is dead, whose world has been destroyed, who doesn't want to leave a friend or a lover, who just wants to start world-hopping? They can go somewhere else. They can go somewhere else with someone else, even. It's all up to you and your ideas.

Maybe you'd like to pick up this character at another game that allows previous game CR and memories--maybe this is where they enter that game.

Maybe you'd like to create an AU or a PSL for your characters--here's a way into that.

Maybe you'd just like to leave your characters happy, at peace, or content after their time in the City--they can step into that story if you so choose.

Maybe you'd just like to leave the door open for PSLs or stories or other ideas after the endgame storyline--perhaps this is the beginning.

Maybe your character will be going back to his or her canon world, but maybe you'd like to make that canon world secretly an AU and allow for doorways between worlds to happen again--it could happen.

We intend to leave this open to you, your ideas, your plans, your plots, and your creativity, and you'll see how it will all work as we get a little closer to the actual events.

But we do have one request: the story we are creating will require all player characters to leave the City. That's an absolute. So we, the mods of POLYchromatic, have one request: if you choose to musebox or PSL stories between Poly characters with Poly memories, all that we ask is that that the setting not be the City or that it at least be the City before the events of the endgame take place. It could even be a place very much like the City, but we ask that it not be the City itself.

Given the story we're writing, we'd like to let all player characters depart in their respective ways and the City will have its own kind of ending (happy, of course).

We hope that will make more sense as the story is told over the next few weeks.

Thank you for so much Poly. Let's let this story end on a high and triumphant note♥
