Sands was using a stray cat to test the food on. He thought it might be drugged. Then he tested the actual drugs on the cat. It was painkillers and he was very careful. And the cat is not real so please don't freak out on me.
Anyway- after realizing the ticking stopped when the cat was with him he is now holding it hostage in his apartment. It's a sick and twisted love they have for each other. Sands is keeping score.

Couple months ago another character ate some kittens which Jan had a fit about. Funny thing most people were in support of the kitten-eater and a few were even giving Jan a bad time about it - LOL!!!

It inspired me to do a flashy declaration of cat love in his user info - LOL!!!

People can go a little too far when it comes to defending fictional animals. Even if it is IC.

You have to be careful about making the game less fun for the person Jan is harassing.

In the case of the kitten-eater it was more fun to pick-on the tough foul-mouthed vampire for liking cats than the weird but cute pink-haired boy for eating them - LOL!!!

Yeah I am stumped right now on how much to have him react. It does make sense with all the noise going on to give the cat something to calm it down.

That comment was actually a not very subtle hint about Jan's gun issue but since we already worked that out elsewhere nvm.

And the fake cat is being taken care of. Sands pets it and plays with it when no one is there to see.

As another character pointed out Jan has some issues concerning loss and that is a large part of why he is being overly protective.

I almost got Jan a couple of cats but the little purple unicorns done as a joke during one of the spells wound-up sticking around.

It is redundant but it's there for a reason. New members don't go through Poly very far to catch up so it being in his journal would be a good thing. And there are over a hundred people in this comm that's haven't friended Sands. I'm covering bases.
