Applications and Reserves

Please bear with us regarding this situation! There is an issue regarding the reserves list that we are attempting to resolve. For those of you who placed a reserve PRIOR to 10/11/06 please let us know if you are missing from that list (unless you have already been approved or have a "(completed)" next to your info). People who placed a reserve prior to 10/11/06 are the ONLY exceptions to the 1 character/1 week rule. You have the rest of this week (10/16 to 10/22) to let us know and will have your reservations extended into the next Application Week. If we hear absolutely nothing from you by 10/22/06, consider your reservation dropped, sorry ^ ^;

You may have noticed that applications are closed right now. From now on, polychro will be operating on a schedule based on two concepts: Application Week and Reserve Week. You can apply/reserve for only ONE CHARACTER per week. For Reserve Week, your reserve will be held for one Application Week. Because reserves are first come-first serve, if you place a character on reserve on the Monday of a Reserve Week, you have essentially gained priority for that character for 14 days (one full Reserve Week and one full Application Week). During an Application Week, reserves will be CLOSED because you are free to apply for a character at any time during Application Week without having to reserve it. To reiterate, applications open every other week. If you have a unique situation, such as going away for vacation during an Application Week or Reserve Week, please contact us mods and we'll discuss that personally with you.

We're also currently updating the FAQ as well as the Destinations sections. Be on the look out for even more renovations to The City. Mouse has already redesigned The Fountain, who knows what's next on the list hmm XD?

I~ have a question ♥

Moreso concerning the destinations within the City, however. Or not quite within, as the case may be. I see our borders are surrounded by a forest and then an ocean? I'm sorry if I'm mistaken, but I think that's a change from how things used to be, right? I mean, they're new additions, right?

So, does that mean our character's can be like 'omg trees!?' upon seeing this mysterious new boundary? Or should we just continue to play it like it's been that way all along? [Indeed, I'm not 100% sure it wasn't like that all along :O]

That's absolutely correct XD Characters may have noticed a ring of forest sprouted up over night. It may be thicker and endless in some places, thinner in others. It's all up to you guys ^ ^ Same with the ocean, although I hope no one tries to reach the bottom of the depths or the horizon line, they might.... get 'lost' >D

Now to irritate you with further questions! I'M SO ENDEARING, AMIRITE? SOME RANDOM DORKS (http://never-sacrifice.livejournal.com/7139.html?thread=302819#t302819) decided it might be a good idea to try and clear a pathway through the forest, so everyone could enjoy the beach. This prompts~ two queries -

1] Forest of DEATH? Is the forest a particularly dangerous place? I see it's all mysterious, and that Kyuu probably knows it best. I was just hoping for some kinda clue as to roughly what might be expected, so as to avoid breaking Poly canon. On a scale of one to DEADLY, what're we looking at here? :O

2] How long would it take to get through said forest? Just approximately, I mean. Like, we talking something more along the lines of hours, a day, several? I have no idea just how deep it is D:

Sorry about the delay in response!

1) Only some parts are dangerous, not all of them. Kyuu made a post recently regarding some of the animals that live there. The City is a biiiiig place, so you can expect the forest to reflect that as well, ie. some parts of town are safe and quiet, so some parts of the forest are safe and quiet. You can make of it what you will, which would put the forest on a 5 to Deadly XD?

2. At the very least a good 3-4 hours of trudging along will get you to the beach. Again this really depends on what you as a player want to get out of playing with the forest. It definitely shouldn't take only a couple minutes, at least not until someone marks a path or road through it. We were hoping the citizens of poly might do that, clear a little dirt path to the beach for themselves ^ ^

I *had* reserved Gir of Invader Zim before the mod switch (I remember because I asked Aika the Thursday or so before the mods switched when she was going to re-open apps), but I left it alone because I was getting rather confused and I didn't want to bother Strike-mod anymore D: If I could apply, I suppose that would be grand. :O I don't want to be a mean person and DEMAND~ I app. It's just Gir. :b

You still have your reserve set for Gir ^ ^ You have a chance to apply for Gir during the next Application Week, but if you're itching to apply for him now you can email us your application for review. We would just ask you to post an application regardless during Application Week as a public record. We can make exceptions only for people who reserved before the modswitch ^ ^

No it wouldn't be, basically Gir would be your character for the Application Week that had just passed, and whoever else you want to reserve can be reserved for the next Application Week ^ ^ We're trying to make as many exceptions and be lenient as possible with people who had reserved prior to the change in modship, we know it was really confusing @D@

So...where is the schedule/calender for reserve weeks and app weeks?

I don't have my app written so I'd rather write it in advance than feel under a deadline, so I want to know a month or so's schedule to prepare a decent app before I go trying to reserve anything.

Also, where does one send/post the apps? I didn't see an email address or a link on the profile page.

There isn't a calendar for reserves/apps however if players are interested in having one we could create one for the links list on the polychromatic main page ^ ^

In order to have an application reviewed, you must submit it to the Applications thread which is listed on the polychromatic main page to the right side. There is a link to Applications and Applications OC.

it might help a little. That way people who haven't seen the operative of the game and all (I've been watching it for a bit but haven't played anyone yet, myself) will know when the reserve times are and when the app times are.
