update of doomish~

Wow~ Glad to see you're all liking the new deity. You might not like her so much today though, since it's time to discuss important matters and a kitchen error. A little bit of reading ahead, so please pay attention~

o1. Curses.
Polychromatic is huge. And it's full of wonderful players from across the globe, which means that we're all in different time zones. This means that people post for curses whenever it's that curse day in their timezone, which leads to confusion. A while back, before the mod switch, there was an announcement asking everyone to adhere to posting within the same twenty-four hour period, from midnight to midnight, Pacific Coast Time. We'd like to reinforce this rule.
This also means no posting for curses a day ahead or a day behind. (Logs can still be backdated, of course.) It's just to keep the flow steady as well as everyone affected at the same time, and we know it sucks if you miss a curse day you were looking forward to but it can be kind of confusing to see a post about a curse and it's still 1pm the day before wherever you are.
Hopefully everyone can handle this easily enough, and if anyone has any problems working out what time that is for them don't ask me because I don't know. Other than the fact that it means that it's 8am-8am GMT and 3am-3am EST.
Alternatively, instead of trusting me, you can check here to find out the time~ (Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] into_theblack~ )

o2. Deity Trades.
As you may have noticed, Siran was pretty free about handing out gifts at first, including a few lives, free of charge. Anyone that recieved a life from her that she gave willingly without taking something in return, if killed again, will cost twice as much to be brought back to life again.

o3. Image Guidelines.
Firstly, a big fat duh. If you can when using fanart, please mention who drew it, preferably with a link to their site/da account/whatever.
Secondly. Images of death/sex/ect should be placed behind a clearly labled cut. As in, if it's a picture of someone hacking apart someone else with a rusty hacksaw, say 'behind this cut is a picture of someone being killed' only a bit more eloquently, if you will.
Thirdly. That said, DO NOT POST PICTURES OF REAL PEOPLE. By that I mean, no photos from crime scenes/porn films to lend authenticity to your death/sex. Models for dresses - and obviously, any character that has a human pb - are allowed, as long as there are no violations of the aforementioned rules. Let's be tasteful, guys~

o4. Berryfloss &co.
Once again, please check that you have your characters listed where they should be. I know it's like saying the same thing over and over, but it really does help.

o5. Dropped Characters.
Please, please, if dropping a character, purge your flist and delete your community membership of that character. It really helps us out, and helps keep things looking tidy.

o6. City Dead.
Since we never set out clear cut rules, but there have been some pretty common agreements, I'm here to set it all to rest. The ded guide, City style.
i. If dead before entering the City, the effects are not as bothersome as they are for those who die within the City.
ii. Dead means dead. The heart stops beating, there's no need to breathe, reaction time is slowed and movements are sluggish.
iii. But dead can still die again. Just because there's no need for air doesn't prevent drowning, and being dead doesn't increase your resistance to pain/makes you lose less blood. If anything, you are weaker in the dead state.

o7. Renovations.
You knew this was coming.
In the southern wilds there is now a large lake, sporting perfect swimming temperature, immesurable depths (don't fall in!), and a variety of fish in a variety of sizes, along with an oh so special guest - the famed Loch Ness Monster. (Maemi spoils his twinly sometimes. )
As far as the rest of the wilds goes. Siran will be tinkering about out there for a while, adding a forest walkway in the treetops. If it goes anywhere remains to be seen, but it will have four ladders to access it from the north, south, east, and west, with a few (locked!) treehouses dotted along the paths. There's currently no entrance to said treehouses, but that's because Siran hasn't made the keys yet. Curious? Do ask~
The creatures in the forest have also undergone a few... changes. Kyuu's ones remain, including the rare, big ones, but they have had a minor increase in size and a larger increase in power, and in addition to them a few dark, shadowy beasts run around. (Think FFXII's shadow panther thingies, yeah?) These beasts are fast, strong, and hard to take down, and never hunt alone. If encountered the best course of action is to run far far far away and hope they didn't spot you, though if there's only one or two it is possible to kill them. They don't hesitate in killing Kyuu's beasts, but they aren't above leaping into a fight to defend them from the City residents either, so those of you who often fight in the forest might want to watch out for them.
Xanadu gardens is under new management, and that means that those edible flowers? Aren't so edible anymore. Try, and have a very bad, incurable stomach ache that lasts for as many hours as flowers you ate. (The grass is still safe though.) Siran has also added in a gazebo and a stream that runs throughout, with various bridges crossing it and koi and goldfish. Annnnnd also, residents may start to notice a lot more spring-type flowers appearing, like crocuses, snowdrops, bluebells, foxglove, and daffodils.
Mousey has added a new building; The Deity Office. Where characters can go to talk to deities and offer suggestions and make complaints. Only problem is, they never seem to be there. Hope Kings throne doesn't look too comfortable to you though, as you never know when they'll be paying attention. Siran will be in there for today, and she may show up at other random times, playing loud music and doing things like enjoying her personal office (complete with wall to wall monitors to watch over everything and an oh so snuggly comfortable looking set of chairs around a rather imposing looking desk on which rests one sheet of paper labled 'Things Siran can do' that is suspiciously blank, if anyone's interested.)

o8. Accidents.
Tomorrow it will be raining food~ Siran accidentally blew up the deity kitchen attempting to make something for King, and that's the result. Foooooood. Raining from the sky. Eat it, start a food fight, complain, you'll even get a chance to laugh at her inability to cook. Like a regular curse the food will disappear at the end of the day, so there's no need to worry about cleaning up. And as a side note, it will be mostly meat. :3
Also, being Mardi Gras, what fun is it if you don't prank your own twinly? This picture will be circulated all tomorrow, courtesy of Dorian so feel free to mention seeing it.

Thanks to all you guys for reading this!

Thanks, that was helpful. ^_^

Well that cleared up a few things...(I'm assuming since I draw my own work I don't need to credit myself?)

and you blew up a kitchen?!?

[identity profile] henkonasuisho.livejournal.com 2007-02-20 12:10 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh no, that would be self-promotion, and what artist does that? Most of us cower in the thought of that, I mean who wants to know we drew THAT picture? it looks HORRID!

still, it takes a considerable lack of talent to blow up an entire kitchen. Part of it is normal... a whole kitchen...

What can he say, his twin is a little kitchen challenged.

Thanks for the clarification ... but if it's midnight-midnight PST, doesn't that make it 3:00 AM - 3:00 AM EST? ;) If somebody's not sure if it's midnight in the Pacific time zone yet, they can check here (http://www.time.gov/timezone.cgi?Pacific/d/-8/java) or any number of other time zone conversion sites. I know it can be a pain in the neck trying to sort out what time it is where.

S'okay! Time zones are evil, especially with all this daylight savings time stuff floating around.<3

[identity profile] pineapple-pimp.livejournal.com 2007-02-20 03:00 pm (UTC)(link)
Okie, so it's manditory if a character is dead, they have no heart beat? o.o Poor Mars ;.;

[identity profile] pineapple-pimp.livejournal.com 2007-02-20 03:01 pm (UTC)(link)
And thank you for inforcing the dropped/flist rule. XD It drives me crazy when I have to ban inactive characters/names from my journal because I don't want them showing up on my flist.

Two questions~!

1) Since the Angel Sanctuary crew has picked up a new Michael, could you please remove the old one from the series's Taken Characters page? ^^

2) Okay, I'm sure there are some people who will want to slap me for asking this, but here it goes: Re: The City Dead, and dead meaning dead, does this also mean that dead characters are incapable of conceiving/fathering children? Because, logically, a body without breath or warmth should not be able to foster or help create life.

Obviously the nature of the City renders few things REALLY impossible, and deals with the deities (or maybe Dorian?) could be made to get around this, I'm sure.

HALLELUJAH, IT'S RAINING MEN FOOOOOOD! ♥

...Yes, that's the only intelligent thing I could say after all that. BUT I'M ON A SUGAR HIGH, PLZ TO BE EXCUSED—!

A question concerning the dead. And some spoilers for SH2
.
.
.

In the Silent Hill canon there's a certain character *cough*Maria*cough* that not only is a manifestation, but she dies up to four times in the game and keeps coming back.

So, my question is for characters such as her, how would the rule of the dead apply to them?

Thankyou for your time! :)

[identity profile] lobsel-vith09.livejournal.com 2007-02-22 04:06 am (UTC)(link)
Alright thanks for that! :D
