Having said that! I really enjoy playing Penny off of Tohru (and Kobato, too). There're so few genuinely sweet and optimistic people in the City; it's a pleasure playing opposite Tohru. It would be much more difficult to keep Penny as cheerful as she should be without Tohru around. ♥
