So, in the spirit of rolling around pathetically post-Octobloodfest bonding:

POLY PLOTTING MEME

What do? Well, if there's anything you've been wanting to do with your character (from a big event, like starting a rebellion, to a smaller deal, like... learning a skill, or meeting new people), here's a chance to talk about it and try to drag other people into it! Just fill in the not-so-shiny textarea, then comment around and try to get others involved with your idea! Alternatively, you can also put down what issues you've been having with the character (ex: "I don't know how to get X more involved with Y issue..." / "I don't know how to go about plotting Z..." ) and maybe someone can help out with a suggestion.

This is the best opportunity to work with people outside of your usual CR-range, so try to make use of it!

Be one with the textarea...

Aaaand you're welcome to figure out City-wide plots, but please be sure to still talk to mods about those here, or at polychromatic.mods@gmail.com, mkay? HAVE FUN!

[character]: Eagle Vision
[a bit about them!]:
A Commander from a technologically advanced planet called Autozam whose main goal is to conquer Cephiro and take over its ‘Pillar System’. His world is dying from misuse and pollution so Eagle is prepared to sacrifice himself in order to become the Pillar (someone who can support and maintain a world with their prayers but isn’t allowed to think or anything else, not even love, or the planet they are supporting falls apart. It is a very lonely and sad existence.)
Eagle has a friendly generally happy nature and he is very polite. Eagle tends to hide things that are really bothering him and only allows people to see that smile of his. His biggest secret is that he is dying from a illness that has no known cure. Eagle isn’t someone who asks for help even if he needs it…
Eagle means well but he does have a darker side. He can be ruthless in battle and so focused on his goal that even if he knows it is hurting the people who care about him… he will do it anyway.

[any ideas/things you want to do]:
Here’s the hard part… my idea bucket is running a little low right now. Maybe I am a touch burnt out… I dunno. I just want to do derpy things right now. All ‘derpy’ suggestions welcome!

To this end Eagle is going to try to learn to cook. All these Earth ingredients are strange though… and he has never really tried cooking before so there maybe an opportunity to get involved here. Recipe advice? Running into him at the grocery store?

Sometime when I am less sleepy/lazy I want to unveil the full details of that ‘secret illness’ on the Network. Get that secret out of the way.
Maybe then would be a chance for you Doctor/Scientist/friendly types people to attempt to help. He will likely politely decline your help unless you have ‘Autozam quality’ credentials or if you can get some one from the Rayearth cast on your side. Eagle is also stubborn…

It has also been suggested that sometime in the future Eagle attacks a deity trying to get them to let the people trapped in this place escape/find a way back to Cephiro for himself. But, Eagle isn’t sure they really know anything and he wouldn’t just fly at someone with out cause.

If you can think of any reason why they might fight, Eagle is very capable of defending himself. That technology from Autozam is pretty good for attack and defense. ^_^

[character]: Lady Aska
[a bit about them!]:
Aska is a spoiled young Princess from Fahren… who is also after the Pillar, though her reasons are a lot less noble than Eagle’s. She just wants to make all of her wishes come true and she doesn’t realize the Pillar can’t grant any wishes for themselves. This has been explained to her in the City but if it actually changed her mind or not… who knows.
Aska is loud and will react to events with ‘font size’ and ‘b’… for emphasis. She wants what she wants and will throw tantrums if she doesn’t get her way. Tantrums she can back up with her magical ability to make anything she draws come to life. Underneath it all though, Aska is a really sweet person. She just wants to everyone to be happy. So if you are sad she will try to cheer you up.
[any ideas/things you want to do]:
She is so going to yell at the deities over the Network at some point, hopefully after another curse. And she can be loud…

She needs to meet other kids sometime. Maybe we can play!

[character]: Mara Lesser

[a bit about them!]:
She can touch you and make you die.
She is City!Dead and can't remember how it happened. (Except for some very disturbing nightmares and dreams.)
She is in a relationship, and still has now idea how that really works.
She has trust issues. See the two previous points.
She lives alone in a huge house she inherited from a former lover and very bad man, Dorian Gray.
She can be a cynic and can count the people she trusts on one hand. (As much as she trusts anyone.)
She works in the hospital, counseling terminal patients and fighting her own aversions to both, and at the magic shop occasionally for Mercy.

[any ideas/things you want to do]:
When it comes to her death, she knows Rido's messed with her memories thereof once so she doesn't trust ANYTHING she remembers - which I think is a big opportunity for people to screw with her on that point. She has the distinct opinion that the Master may have been involved thanks to the nightmare curse, but even that she's really not sure on because everyone's memories have been so screwed up.

TL;DR - she's prime for mental manipulation.

[character]: Anna Milton

[a bit about them!]:
She's a former fallen angel with experience in time travel and extreme Apocalypse-averting measures.
She used to be Castiel's boss.
She misses being human.
She is in a relationship, and still has now idea how that really works.
She has faith issues, daddy issues, and despite being loyal to the Winchesters deep down she knows they have to die.
...she also knows she's wrong about that.

[any ideas/things you want to do]:
She's considering dealing with the Deities to do something about her humanity, although holding back because making deals? Not cool.

I need more things to ground her as a human, she's kinda forgotten how to have fun.

[character]: Cinna

[a bit about them!]:
Makes it work harder than Tim Gunn.
Makes it look easier, too.
Has lead a more or less pampered existence, but has been opening his eyes and has a strong sense for how wrong that is.
And yet he's still surprised at how bad things are for the others.
Owns and runs a shop that makes off-the-rack and custom clothing.
...is very, very sorry his pieces caused some havoc over the holiday.
Has a certain amount of arrogance, but is nice enough that you don't always notice it.

[any ideas/things you want to do]:
DOES ANYONE KNOW WHO OWNS THOMAS RAITH'S HAIR SALON NOW? Cinna's looking to expand.

And anything really - I need to get him involved in wider things because he's been justifiably sticking close to his crew, but I think it's time to branch him out.

[identity profile] primrosella.livejournal.com 2010-11-10 07:43 pm (UTC)(link)
[character]: Rosella ([livejournal.com profile] primrosella)
[a bit about them!]:
She's a nineteen-year-old not-so-standard fairytale princess from the land of Daventry whose general history and background is outlined in her profile here (http://primrosella.livejournal.com/profile). She's been in the City two years and three months, so she's very much a veteran of the City. She works at the Library, rides horses, has a notorious sweet tooth, loves puns, likes to dance, currently lives in the Warehouse with a [livejournal.com profile] byweavinglives, has a penchant for adventure, can use magic, and--as one of her dearest friends so eloquently put it--about the only time she's not getting into trouble is when she's asleep. She's a perpetual optimist, but she's seen a lot in her time in the City, and there is essentially nothing she won't do for her family and friends.
[any ideas/things you want to do]:
Emotionally, she's in kind of a shaky place because she lost two of her closest friends (one of whom was literally her first friend in the City) in the same summer, which left her with a lot of loneliness, vulnerability, and abandonment issues. I'm always up for having her make new friends and strengthening her CR again, and I've found that she tends to do really well with two types of characters in particular--the confident, charismatic types with accents who end up charming her, and the good-hearted but shy and timid types that she can befriend and help encourage a sense of self-confidence in. Characters that make heavy use of pop culture references will probably find themselves explaining them to her every other tag (or the victim of mistaken assumptions about what they mean), since she's from fairy-tale land and so pretty much all of them go over her head--which isn't a bad thing, just a heads-up that it might take a little more persistence to get through to her!

TL;DR Rosella can always use more friends, and she's kind of a toolbox of skills and things that she's involved in or knows about, so she's really versatile for involvement in plots and CR.

[character]: Rudy ([livejournal.com profile] prefers_chess)
[a bit about them!]:
Rudy is a twelve- (now thirteen, he just had his birthday) year-old kid hailing from Ontario, Canada in 1981. He is extremely introverted, flagrantly sarcastic, and occasionally borderline sociopathic in his utter disdain for his fellow man. He is also the world's greatest natural athlete (in his canon, naturally), which means that if an activity can in any way be construed as athletic, Rudy can instinctively excel at it. Canon also gives evidence that this applies to competitive activities in general, not just physical ones; case in point, Rudy is a master at chess. However, Rudy rarely if ever mentions these abilities because he hates sports as much as he is good at them (which is a lot), and refuses to play them unless he is forced. However, he does have a unique sense of personal honour and will never intentionally play below his capabilities. He's extremely intelligent, incredibly bad at social interaction, mistrustful of adults, and kind of a geek in his own right: he likes Star Wars and old-school Mission: Impossible and Pac-Man, and his musical tastes run to heavy metal and hard rock.
[any ideas/things you want to do]:
I would love to have more opportunities to showcase Rudy's abilities, but the problem is that he won't use them of his own choice; he has to be forced into it (with the exception of chess, which he will play of his own volition). It's his nature to resist with everything he has, which I know can sometimes pose problems on the IC/OOC divide because it treads a fine line between okay and godmodey to tell someone else's character that they have to do something when they're resisting that much. However, as a player I would love to come up with some ways of forcing Rudy into activities that he really doesn't want to participate in, so OOC communication and arrangement is probably the way to go on that one.

Also, Rudy is always up for a game of chess. Always. I'm not against letting him lose (canonically, he never loses at anything, but that's obviously both unrealistic and unfeasible), but it will take an extremely skilled, grandmaster-level player to beat him. He's twelve and he plays like Bobby Fischer, go figure.

On an interpersonal level, Rudy takes best to people who understand his unique sense of humour and can roll with his metaphorical punches; in lieu of that, he also does reasonably well with people who know when to utilize the "nod and smile" method and when to leave him alone. And despite how he acts, he is, at heart, a kid. He likes nifty gadgets and 80's pop culture and superheroes and good music.

[character]: Finnick ([livejournal.com profile] protects_her)
[a bit about them!]:
Finnick Odair is twenty-four years old, ridiculously handsome, and has spent the last ten years of his life being the "living legend" of his homeworld, Panem. He was Victor of the 65th Hunger Games, which is essentially a Battle Royale-style survival competition in which children between the ages of twelve and eighteen are "reaped" from their home districts, sent into an arena with nothing but the clothes on their backs, and forced to fight it out until only one is left standing. At age fourteen, Finnick was one of the youngest children to ever win the Games, which is a polite way of saying he killed a bunch of children for the sake of staying alive himself. That victory stemmed largely from the fact that he is unusually attractive, which earned him a lot of rich sponsors to provide for his needs while he was in the Arena. His weapon of choice is the trident, which is largely due to the fact that he comes from District 4, the fishing district of Panem. As such, he is ridiculously good at swimming, practically grew up on boats, and is extremely deadly when you put a trident and a net in his hands. In public, he mostly wears his "living legend" facade, which is probably best summed up like this: if Panem had Old Spice, Finnick is the one they'd have doing the commercials. Except that it wouldn't end when the commercials were over. That's basically his life in an amazing-smelling nutshell.

Also he has absolutely no concept of personal space. Or shame. Ask anybody in his crew. They know.
[any ideas/things you want to do]:
EVERY WOMAN IN THE CITY. HELLOOOOO, LADIES.

Okay no seriously here's the thing. Finnick's trade is secrets. Particularly dirty secrets. And he's canonically extremely good at learning and keeping them. Now, around the City, he doesn't have nearly as much motivation to do that as he does in canon, but he does make a good confidante, if there are any characters out there languishing under the weight of a Big Secret that they don't want to reveal but are desperate to talk to someone about it. I'm not sure how to really bring that sort of trade into play in the City, honestly, because it's such a situational thing in canon (and for a very specific reason that isn't currently an issue in the City), but I'd be willing to explore it if the opportunity were ever to arise.

On a related note, Finnick is always on the lookout for new information. Life in Panem is very, very different from life in the City, and he doesn't like being at a relative disadvantage due to lack of knowledge about how the place works. And he tends to ferret out information by talking to people, so he's always up for a conversation if there's something to be learned from it (and lots of times when there's not, even). He's free with his compliments around girls, tends to flirt with pretty much everything in sight, and just generally likes to talk to people.

ALSO EVERYONE SHOULD VISIT PEETA'S BAKERY AND BUY CLOTHES FROM CINNA. /schmooze schmooze schmooze

[identity profile] sparkling-by.livejournal.com 2010-11-10 07:51 pm (UTC)(link)
We could put together a winter gala fashion show? I can see the Host Club (current representation: 1, orz) helping with that + I spoke with Chelle about the possibility of having the Circus crew open one of the HC events --- it would work really well with a fashion show, wouldn't it?

[identity profile] primrosella.livejournal.com 2010-11-10 07:56 pm (UTC)(link)
You know, I used to toss around jokes that if anyone ever managed to make Finnick get a job, it would probably be something epic like hosting for the Host Club. That's essentially what he does every day of his life anyway. >>

And obviously if there were going to be a fashion show, you'd need models, which could pull in outside CR, and roping in at least some if not all of the Hunger Games crew would be a cinch, and basically what I am getting at here is I think all of this sounds AWESOME.

...which is obviously kind of irrelevant because it's not my decision, but CONSIDER THIS A +1 FROM ME. ♥

[identity profile] sparkling-by.livejournal.com 2010-11-10 08:02 pm (UTC)(link)
XD; I always have a reluctance about letting characters join the HC, because of the group's animu relevance, but --- I shall keep that in mind!

Yeah, models would be nice - and patrons! There's only so much you can rely on Adrian Veidt's pockets T_T ALTHOUGH AT LEAST A PART OF THE PROFIT SHOULD GO TO A CHARITY................

It could be a pretty cute, City-wide event that would facilitate a lot of CR.

[identity profile] protects-her.livejournal.com 2010-11-10 08:08 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, he does kind of have a job now anyway, so Tamaki's safe on that front. But the Ouran style of hosting is basically what Finnick does on an everyday basis in his canon, albeit in a considerably darker and grittier sense than what goes on in Ouran canon. So I think it'd be kind of an interesting dynamic between the two of them, since Tamaki does it because he legitimately wants to make people happy, and that's...a perspective that Finnick has probably never run into before, on the subject.

They could rope in the Welcome Center? Or the Orphanage, I know at least a few characters that would have feasible IC connections to that. HOLIDAY SPIRIT.

Ahahaha, Finnick and Tamaki teaming up to do PR for this thing. Oh my god, what shenanigans those would be.

[character]: Cain Hargreaves

[a bit about them!]:The Byronic Hero: mad, bad, and dangerous to know. Risky, fascinated with poisons, sophisticated, seductive, mysterious, charming, a gentleman (but only to a point). An absolute ladies' man, though really maybe more of a player (oh dear). Hopefully his reputation precedes him. After all, he's been in the City for three and a half years now, and knows more than many about the ins and outs of it--and the good and the bad of it. But hopefully, despite all that time here, he hasn't lost his touch.

[any ideas/things you want to do]: I would love to get Cain more involved in, well, anything. He's gotten into a lot of scrapes and adventures in his time in the City. But he's kind of gotten a little too wise of late, and is keeping too far out of trouble. I think he needs to get into trouble again. He could hassle the police, investigate his brother, start making opium again, work on his poison collection, raise hell, start trouble--he's an earl, but he's also a troublemaker in his canon. He's charming, but also a complete beast.

I think, generally, I'd like him to do more than make snarky commentary on the curses (much as I love this). I'd very much like to develop new CR and make some new connections and have him get out and around more again. He's a social animal, and no mistake.

I am planning on having him host a masquerade sometime in November or early December, just because the City's was not nearly as pleasant as he'd hoped. So there's that, if anyone wants to get in on that (or combine events?).
