MOD NOTE;
Hey, all.
Concerning this. Like it says in the FAQ, the city is in the center of all worlds & interconnected with every last one of them. Once it blows up, everything's KABOOMED to smithereens. It's like a wound up ticking time bomb.
There are characters here who will either A) fight against the end of the world. B) won't care at all & enjoy what the city has to offer them. C) do nothing. D) fight for the sake of fighting. E) fight against those who don't want the world to end. F) will think it's all some big joke. G) etc.
Whichever choice your character chooses, remember to have a blast while doin' it ♥
Oh yeah! Feel free to ask any questions you wanted answered in this post.

My character, Vergil, once coming into awareness of it will probably scheme to find a way to gain power through the interconnectivity of the worlds, but I... like... have no idea. Hee. *shuffles* And if that's answered somewhere, I missed it, and am sorry for asking BUT...

Well, my characters intend to rage, rage against the dying of everything, anyway. Or in Uriel's case, emo, emo uselessly against it. Fight the End of the World (Not Akio)! For Great Justice and Small Kittens!
Actually, enough cliche'd gibberish, I do have a question. Can we have an ETSplody? Or can you at least give me the real-time interval we've had between the clock ticking one and two so I can multiply up and make a (or have Walter make a) rough estimate? Hell, can you even give me the number of carousel cycles per diem ... mostly for futile posturing. How long have you nice people been running this crazy multicoloured house-o-dreams anyway? Okay, that's more than one question.
Also, where is Yoshito getting his ecstasy. 'Cause I want some of that.

You just hurt my brain so bad, love ♥
Hmm, let me think. The carousel spins around 12 times during a day to help wind the clock up. Rough estimate for when the carousel turns to point to another hour is around a month. & how long? A long time, I'm guessing? Like it says in the faq [#15], the city was created from everyone's hearts. How long have hearts been in existence?
[he's getting it from his glitter, yo. it keeps him perpetually happy & obnoxious with his fruity ways ;D]

Is it okay if Walter, or V, or whoever works this out and lets everyone know that the grim hand of death is progressing slowly towards their doom pour dix heures en plus, or do you want to keep that your happy little secret?
ooh, look. More questions.

1) Do you have a picture of the mechanism already?
1)b: if not, can I find one?
2) Is there anything visible within the mechanism that could be construed as a bomb, fail-safe, whatever?
3)Does the mechanism extend all the way through the city?
4) Is there anything on/in the carousel that looks off? some form of riddle, instructions, code, whatever?
5) Would something happen if one were to try and jam the gears?
6) Does one's character exist outside of time in this city?
6)b: does one character exist outside of time on the carousel?
7) Would it be possible to question Yoshito further?
( there are more, but I'll stop here, since the rest rely on these answers)

2) That's actually an interesting question. I like the idea of it; a kind of switch or backtrack mechanism, right?
3) Yes, it does. like a spiderweb fracture, ya dig? 8D
4) Nope. But, it could be said that the carousel horses age with every month that passes? Splintering wood, chipping paint, etc.
5) Yes. Like V stated before, it's going to take more than sth like that to stop the countdown. Consider a giant knock-out shock from the city transferred to anyone that tries ;D
6) Nope.
6b) Kaen, Yoshito & Dorian do. They're extensions of the city, they were created for the people, by the people & etc.
7) Sure! It's totally possible! Yoshito's the kind of guy who wants to see what's going to happen & have fun with it. Kaen's probably going to KAEN-SMASH him for letting things slip, though

..and then you wake up as a monkey. Haha, just kidding.

And, just to make sure I got this: the mechanism extends everywhere, thus one could conceivably see pieces of it all over town, yes?
8) Is the Carousel really like the "winding-knob" for the whole clock/city?
8)b: does a character have to figure out some way to physically turn the carousel back, or is there another readily available means of "using the carousel to somehow buy more time."
9) V is going to get smote isn't he? >.>;
10)I would be grateful if it could be said that the mechanism is semi-defficult to find underground ( what with the labyrinth of tunnels, Trains, and silent hill critters) Pwetty pwease?

7. Okay lady, what the hell is the carousel for?
The basic theory behind the carousel is that it's connected directly to the clock; the underground's pulse. It winds it up & keeps it moving. Before you ask, no, you can't destroy it. It has a fail-safe device within its core that will . . . Man, I can't reveal everything. Just know that you can use the carousel to somehow buy more time.
JAE I'M SORRY I LOVE YOU

One of my characters, Gon, is planning to use his fishing rod to try and snag the carousel. This probably won't work or Gon won't get to try, but if he or any other character does manage to stop the carousel prematurely, what will happen?
Does world go boom?
