How's My Driving?!

H.M.D.?!
[I KNOW YOU'RE EXCITED!!]

How It Works:
[1] List your name/nickname/handle and your characters for which you would like some feedback (use our handy form, if you like). Open hands, await feedback.

[2] Go forth and leave some polite thoughts, crit, questions, concerns, comments, suggestions, general feedback, or any combination of the above for your fellow players about their respective characters. In this, we really encourage you to ask questions and get explanations about what has gone into characterization decisions. Communication is key. Find out what went into an action or decision and you may come to understand it better. Let's talk it out.

[3] Please try to be polite and constructive. Can't stress that enough, can we? Give suggestions and ask questions! Be constructive! But please refrain from using "placeholder" comments. HMD isn't going anywhere, I promise.

[4] Please also refrain from posting pictures, animated .gifs, videos, giant text, sparklies, blinking and moving tags, and &c. outside of collapsed threads. For the sake of our sanity and our load times.

[5] As per our community poll, Anonymous is off. We'd also like to request that sockpuppets not be used on this HMD. You are welcome to post a link to a personal HMD thread where Anonymous is allowed, if you so choose; these threads are your own lookout.

[6] If you'd like, you can also list your personal HMD posts and contact posts over in the POLYchromatic Rainbow Pages directory.

The Form:

To the best of my abilities, I'll keep an ongoing and alphabetical list of the HMD comments on this post here below for easy reference.

I feel as if I've said everything I yet could on the topics of Cain and Maria, who are lovely and universally coo', so let me just reiterate my newly established crush on the Cowboy. May Hibari and he forever bicker on payments.

...............QUESTION: how many Earls does it take to change a lightbulb? ;)

♥ Thank you! Bwa ha ha--JUST NAME YOUR PRICE, KID. You must be awful to play poker with. I'm telling you.

How many earls does it take to change a lightbulb? None, of course. They have servants for that. Preferably servants in the form of pretty, young, French parlour maids who can be made to stand up on something (possibly unsteady) so as to reach the chandelier and change said lightbulb. Obviously.

I really love reading Cain's tldr posts. I know nothing of his canon but it really seems like you put so much thought into him and everything he does and says. /stalks him forever even if he intimidates me

Ah ha ha my tl;dr is legendary, seriously. Well, regardless of how tl it is, I'm glad that you actually r it. And I'm glad that you like him so much--four years is a lot of time for development and thought, so I do try to work all that in (to say nothing of how much baggage the boy comes with in his own canon--heavens above). I will endeavor to provide more of the same quality tl;dr you have come to expect.

Don't be afraid to tag him sometime! I know I'd love it :3c I mean, he's great for stalking, but tags are ever-so-welcome (or else I might have to tag you).

Going to have to second what is said above. I do enjoy reading his posts. They flow nicely. Never disjointed. I do feel guilty my replies to such well worded posts is only a line or two. But the introspective is lovely!

Thank you! Really, it's just my propensity to herd some teal deer... But if it's working, I will keep on keeping on. I've had a long time playing Cain to get a voice for him worked out--and since he's seen and done so much in all that time, that helps to have more things to add to a post. It's a culmination of effort, so to speak. And please go on and tag! One line or twenty, I know I'd love it.

I've been loving Cowboy Yojimbo - you do so well with a character that says so little which is always a difficult thing. I also think you do a great job playing a little girl, equally as hard. They're both three-dimensional and I've never read anything from either of them that's made me do a double-take or wonder where that came from.

I'm really glad that I've gotten to thread with both of them recently!

Thank you! (For a man with no name, he sure gets more nicknames than average...) He's kind of a funny character to write because, for all that he doesn't say much, he's a man of action...in more ways than one. While he's not fidgety, he's always kind of doing something--like being a fake!lefty, scratching at his chin, peeking around corners, watching someone or something, squinting at stuff, lighting matches or cigarillos, making vague faces, pulling on his hat, intimidating someone by flipping up his MACHO PONCHO (to show his gun, of course), getting involved in a standoff, on and on--which (in canon, at least, and hopefully when I'm writing him) becomes communicative for him in a way, so it ends up that he's not silent so much as just non-verbal. /blather, blather...

I'm glad Maria's coming across so well because, honestly, she is tricky to write. Kids in general are tricky to write because you don't want to make them seem too old or too young. Maria's a little easier because she has a pretty distinctive voice (to say nothing of the "uuu"--seriously, if I ever go over the top with that, just let me know and I'll tone it down; I really don't want it to get annoying) and a pretty clear set of interests (witches, magic). I'm a little concerned about Maria and her characterization, if only because she's been away from her canon world (and all its weirdness) for so long that I do worry that she's becoming too happy and too content and might be losing some of what makes her so distinctive in her canon (and it is a weird canon, lemme tell you). But I am glad that she's coming across as a three-dimensional character because she certainly does have the depth and detail inherent in her canon necessary for that kind of characterization. So, okay, maybe I'll want to canon review sometime soon, but that's a personal problem. I'm glad she still reads well and not too excessively childish.

Aaaaaand now that I've tl;dr'd at you about my characters... /)_(\;;

I know I've enjoyed our recent threads--I hope we can thread some more in the future.
