How It Works:
[1] List your name/nickname/handle and your characters for which you would like some feedback (use our handy form, if you like). Open hands, await feedback.
[2] Go forth and leave some polite thoughts, crit, questions, concerns, comments, suggestions, general feedback, or any combination of the above for your fellow players about their respective characters. In this, we really encourage you to ask questions and get explanations about what has gone into characterization decisions. Communication is key. Find out what went into an action or decision and you may come to understand it better. Let's talk it out.

Your interpretation of Florian is consistent, which I enjoy. He's a very bit-part character and you've given him an adorable personality. His threads are always drop dead cute, and I want to hug him. The whole time. My favorite part about playing with you is the big brother dynamic that Luke has formed while living with Florian. A lot of our interactions are implied because of our haphazard schedules, and I'm really bad at coming up with things to say sometimes, so I'm sorry for that!
There are some things about your Florian that strike me as odd, however. The first one is his speech pattern. The replicas shown in the game besides Luke have preprogrammed knowledge of how to walk, run, eat, and things like that. They know how to survive, basically, though whether they have personality is something else. All of the lines Florian has (few as they are) show none of the little kid speech impediments that you've given him. He looks and sounds a lot like Ion (which is, you know, expected), with more childish curiosity and less political/worldly wisdom, but yours sounds like he's just beginning to talk.
The second thing is that I don't see much of his thoughts and conflicts. Florian only received his identity through the name that Luke's group gave him, and though he's fairly happy, he's also lonely without Anise and everyone around all the time, or his teachers and friends in Daath. His past is not happy. I don't know if it's your personal style, but generally I find his character to be somewhat flat and unflawed in Poly, with his only conflicts coming from silly sitcom-like things he does rather than reacting to the more serious issues going on around him and the City. He doesn't feel very fleshed-out to me.
It's possibly to play a lighthearted character in a serious situation, but I don't see that part of his character here. Having a pretty much full house, especially one where Asch is yelling REPLICAAAA and belittling Luke ought to give you something to work with other than accidentally burning down the apartment, or adopting man-eating plants, or whatever. Florian has been in the City for a long time, but I don't feel like his character has developed much in comparison with other long-standing characters, even for an optimistic kid like him. It's hard to balance breaking the cutie and keeping him pure, but I haven't seen you touch it at all recently.
Lastly, there is a lot of Abyss material out there, translations of the novels and such, and game scripts. I found most of my supplementary translated information through the Tales of the Abyss LJ comm. When I last mentioned the novel with Ion/Florian/Sync's side in it, you seemed completely unaware of it, which was kind of jarring since it popped up on Abyss Info years ago. I think it's important to get as much canon as possible when you play a minor character, especially background information. I understand the struggle-- considering how long it took me to find information from Tales of Fandom for one of my muses-- and you've had Florian around for a while, but... in this case it is kind of vital to his character and I suggest you check it out again, and weigh that against the background you've chosen for him.

That background info thing is also something I really never noticed, because...well, I guess it doesn't really matter much why I never noticed, but I really do need to incorporate that somehow. I haven't looked at the Abyss comm since I dropped Florian out of his last game, and looking back, I probably should have. Anyway, really, thank you! I'll definitely keep all this in mind.

cuteadorable. Even I can see that despite both of us not really being around.But with that said, as far as I know, all of Luke, Florian, Shings, Guy, and Asch live in the same apartment. Maybe we can use this to build some CR. XD
