How It Works:
[1] List your name and your characters for which you would like some feedback (use our handy form, if you like)!
[2] Please refrain from posting pictures, .gifs, videos, giant text, sparklies, blinking and moving tags, and &c. outside of collapsed threads. For the sake of our sanity and our load times. You are welcome to link to them in top-level comments, but otherwise please save 'em for collapsed threads.
[3] Open hands, await feedback and go forth and leave some polite thoughts, crit, questions, concerns, comments, suggestions, or any combination of the above for your fellow players about their respective characters. In this, we really encourage you to ask questions and get explanations about what has gone into characterization decisions. Communication is key. Find out what went into an action or decision and you may come to understand it better. Let's talk it out.
[4] Please try to be polite and constructive. Can't stress that enough, can I? Give suggestions and ask questions! Be constructive! But please also refrain from using "placeholder" comments. HMD isn't going anywhere, I promise!

Thank you so, so much for your input. I've played characters with accents before, but not quite to this degree; it's one thing to add something here and there to imply an accent, but going all-out with Chekov would definitely take away from content. I'm just never sure if that's a bad thing or if omitting phonetics is going to take away from any kind of voice.

I am soooo glad to have you back in Poly, Veda-darling. All your characters have so many levels going on, even the ones who might have been less multi-dimensional in their canons. I think at the moment I'm enjoying interacting with Justin most: I think I've said he reminds Chase a little bit of himself in some ways and Chase almost wants to educate him in hiding it better, that art of concealment being what's got him through life. But that's complicated, because of what Justin has actually done (and the nerve that hits, of course). Does Justin deserve to be able to pass? Does Chase, anymore? & etc.
Penny I sort of feel like I'm still finding a level with, but it's so lovely to have her back.

I'm glad to be back and I like the Justin-Chase interaction, too. It's complicated. (Although I will say that Chase has gone up in Justin's esteem just by virtue of being knowledgeable and sensible.) I understand your comment about Penny; I feel like she's in a very weird place right now. I'm not sure if it's because I'm having troubles with her or if I'm trying too hard or what, but there's something off. Things aren't really clicking. (That's not what you said, sorry. Sort of took a side-trip there.)

I hate that timezones hate us so but oh man, I adore your Chekov voice. I adored him when you brought him in for fourth day and I'm so incredibly happy that you brought him in properly now and that he's in poly and he's wonderful. you know how much I adore his interactions with Tessa, always and forever. His voice is really good and I think you've made a smart decision in not spelling his accent out very much. It comes across quite well even as is and spelling it out might only become annoying after a while so... yes.
Also, I don't know Penny's canon at all, but she's wonderful with Ivy and I really enjoy her and how.... just how nice she is, really.
But mostly, bwaah Chekov I love Chekov this is the most useless HMD comment ever because I have nothing to say except LET ME SHOW YOU HOW MUCH I LOVE CHEKOV okay.

Thank you, and it's a lot your fault that I'm playing him, so thank you for that, too. ♥ I've never played a character who was just happy and enthusiastic with no underlying emotional issues/dark childhoods/what have you and it's fun. Completely out of my comfort zone, but fun. Thank you!
There will be more interaction with Ivy! And if Penny is coming across as Just a Nice Person, then that's good. XD She's not the most fleshed-out character, but she really is nice.

Ahahaha I will gladly take the blame for making you playing Chekov in poly now, he's wonderful and I love that he's here so if it's partly my fault, iiii don't mind. In fact, I might just feel slightly smug about it now. My enabling points have just risen.
Penny is definitely coming across as a Just Genuinely Nice Person and I shall look forward to more interactions between her and Ivy, oh yes. Ivy needs people like her in her life. Fact.

Re: Veda
As far as Justin's development, I'm totally game to play with anything you'd like regarding Justin being Dean's personal assistant at the police station. You're free to bitch and nag at him about pretty much whatever because he sucks at all the parts of being a police chief that aren't charging in and saving the day. You can always @ plurk me if you want to check on nagging at him or whatever but really, I'll say yes to practically anything as long as it's not "Dean why does your aim with a gun suck?"

Oho, I will remember this. I've been watching Supernatural (er, kind of--you know, in the way in which it's in the background when I'm doing other things) and I can definitely appreciate how... not great at parts of this job Dean might be. The saving and charging and shooting he has down, no worries. Justin won't nag as much as he did when Beckett was in charge. He knows Dean doesn't want this. I mean, SOME nagging will be inevitable...

I think Justin and Peter are the favorite interactions I've had with Justin. I mean, I adore Justin and Zia, but I think more of the complex psychology you put into your characters came out in his interaction with Peter. I love his confusion and awkwardness and struggle to figure things out. He feels very real.
And Penny. Love Penny. Glorious Penny. Penny is the most fun to piss off, and Chekov is adorable, and you are one of the funnest people to play with ever. SO FUN I BUTCHER GRAMMAR FOR YOU.

AHA, you get stars for making Penny mad. She'll just keep calming down, assuming poor Peter's broken and it's not really his fault that he's a jerkface. ...And then he can be a jerkface again and the cycle continues. FUN, YES. I do look forward to throwing Chekov at Peter, too!
(It's a toss-up as to who would be better for Peter to have in a dangerous situation, Justin or Chekov. I think Chekov is overall more capable and likely to end up with everyone intact. Justin can shoot stuff well enough, but ultimately Peter might benefit more from that complete apathy towards dying. Yeah, I've thought about this.)
