How's My Driving?
[I KNOW YOU'RE EXCITED!!]
How It Works:
[1] List your name and your characters for which you would like some feedback (use our handy form, if you like)!
[2] Please refrain from posting pictures, .gifs, videos, giant text, sparklies, blinking and moving tags, and &c. outside of collapsed threads. For the sake of our sanity and our load times. You are welcome to link to them in top-level comments, but otherwise please save 'em for collapsed threads.
[3] Open hands, await feedback and go forth and leave some polite thoughts, crit, questions, concerns, comments, suggestions, or any combination of the above for your fellow players about their respective characters. In this, we really encourage you to ask questions and get explanations about what has gone into characterization decisions. Communication is key. Find out what went into an action or decision and you may come to understand it better. Let's talk it out.
[4] Please try to be polite and constructive. Can't stress that enough, can I? Give suggestions and ask questions! Be constructive! But please also refrain from using "placeholder" comments. HMD isn't going anywhere, I promise!
[5] If you'd like, you can certainly list your personal HMD posts and contact posts over in the POLYchromatic Rainbow Pages directory.
[6] As per our community poll, Anonymous is off. We'd also like to request that sockpuppets not be used on this HMD. You are welcome to post a link to a personal HMD thread where Anonymous is allowed; these threads are your own lookout.
The form:
To the best of my abilities, I'll keep an ongoing and alphabetical list of everyone's HMD comments here below for your browsing pleasure.

Characters played: Personal concrit link: I technically have them... I just don't think I've gone and done all that anon-enabled, ip-disabled stuff since the move, so I guess we're stuck with here for now.
Anonymous allowed/encouraged? Y/N: S'fine
Other comments? I'm more than happy to answer questions. One of my worries is that Delacroix's accent bothers people, but... she's not a character who ever appears on-screen, so her voice is her character throughout the whole game. It feels really weird not to use it 8\ I have plenty of other worries, that one is just the most succinct atm.

Ummmmmmmmm, idk System Shock, so I can't speak with canon accuracy, but - I think, unless someone happens to find it offensive, if her accent is thick and it's what makes sense to you, then... keep it. It's important for you to be comfortable with the voice, I think!

Oh, and stalking some of Carla and Estelle's threads has been really great, too. I love the way they interact together.

Re: Vee
I find Carla interesting on so many levels. She's clearly so angry, and from Saya's perspective, Saya does not understand anger at the world for things out of your control (of course, Saya's perspective on anger is very highly diminished anyway since she doesn't feel it). So there's a lot of fascination on that level, and of course, Saya likes to play with the feeling of control that she has over Carla.
And I kind of think that their dynamic is endlessly fascinating in that sense, and kind of excludes Blonde in that regard.
I would love to see, even if it's just with Blonde and Saya, more of her backstory emerge organically into play. I think that might be why I had Saya mention Barbet to her the other day. I know it can be difficult to do that without making it seem forced, though, so that's just an idea.
I am looking forward to getting CR with Anna!
Re: Vee
Gadgets and I have talked, a little bit, about how Saya plays into the relationship between Blonde and Carla. It mostly came up in the regard that... it was much better for them to go to the Warehouse than it was for Saya to come into their apartment (which was before they got their puppy.) It would be really hard for Carla to handle being submissive to her in her own home without that festering into something nasty. Beyond that though, the relationships do end up exclusive just... due to the logistics of the game, which I think is kind of pity. I should probably ask Gadgets more about it, because Carla is the dominant over him, it's kind of a marked change for her to be submissive for Saya. (As a side note, the only other person in the City she's scared of Brian. I think... if they ganged up on her she would have a serious freak out.)
It's not much of a secret that what I really enjoy is the interplay between characters, and Saya's poking and prodding for reactions really facilitates that.
One of the things about... Carla and her backstory is... she hasn't overtly told anyone that she died yet. Which is the biggest thing. It puts everything into context, and she knows that. There are several different ways I can bring it out, I am just sort of waffling over... when, because that is really a one time deal. Although, Chase already knows, and she sort of said it to Blonde when she told him that she couldn't handle being a Reanimate again, although I would have to ask Gadgets if he took note of that or not.
I do fully intend to eventually bring her Reanimate version into the city, whether it's for a 4th wall or via a time-rewind sort of curse, so! It will hopefully unfold itself in a way that doesn't seem too attention seeking. That is what I worry about the most, is making sure there's a good balance between her inevitable misery and sad backstory, and... engagement with the present.
But gosh do I tl;dr when it comes to Carla...
Anna is a much easier person to get around to lots of CR, so hopefully I will get to meet quite a few of your other characters through her!

Technically there are gifts that Saya can use - she doesn't see like people - to see that something's not quite right with the world. I don't have her do it often because it can be a little god-moddy, and also, she has to open all of her eyes to do it (and that kind of gives her away). However, it might be an interesting thing to explore at some point? It doesn't have to be soon.
Saya actually noticed that in a sense - not that she's not welcome in their apartment, but she has thoughts about how little she does go there, and when she does it's usually for Blonde, not Carla.
She will keep poking and prodding and pushing - that's Saya's nature, it's just how she rolls - so I'm really glad it doesn't bother you that she does!

The only person who has come to the apartment for Carla was Chase when he came to sew her up, after she freaked out over Birdboy's antics. It's a space she is really attached to, but on another level... She and Blonde have a comparable relationships to Saya, in that... they owe her for her help, so it's not weird for them to approach her together, but bringing her into their bed is... more of an invasion into Carla's relationship with Blonde. That feeling is probably even more now, since they have only been growing closer. Carla definitely thinks of Blonde's bed as hers despite having her own separate bedroom.

I really like how thorough and well rounded Carla is, and I can see it with how she interacts with Estelle. Basically, I adore her and please, keep it up!

But I'm glad you enjoy it too, because I really enjoy Carla's unfortunate fondness for pink haired princess.
Vee
Although I don't really play any myself I've always had a fondness for well done OCs, because I get to learn about them as the character does, without any preconceptions or the possibility of someone else having a different interpretation to mine of what an established character would do. It does however take an extremely solid grip on a character to be able to remain consistent with them with no canon to review or fall back on when needed, and I really think with Carla that's what you have. You really question yourself over her, there's never a feeling of 'it's my character so anything I say is IC'. She feels inhabited, I think is what I'm trying to say, and that means that you pull off her more hideous aspects without the impression that it's just for gratituous shock value, which is the only thing that would be likely to bother me.
As Mici said, I really enjoy working with her backstory, and I think Chase may be someone who knows more of it than most through being a nosy, interrogative asshole. I'm quite sure that their involvement isn't healthy on either part (he has some nobler intentions) and I think it has a different dynamic again to some of the psychos she hangs around with, so it's fun for me to see Chase tread that line. He is a hopeless sucker for bad ideas.
I wish I had more time and brain for more characters to do justice to CR with Marie (who I also think is great) and bother Anna without feeling like I'm swamping you.
