How It Works:

In this, we really encourage you to ask questions and get explanations about what has gone into characterization decisions. Communication is key. you know i adore your tessa! she's one of the main reasons i came back to poly (which is a really weird sentence now that i think about BUT NEVERMIND...), and i'm just. so relieved that things are working out better re: their interactions now that i don't have such a pain in the arse canon point. i'm pretty sure there was something specific i wanted to say, but i can't remember what it was 8(

i'm glad we had that plurk convo t'other day, and honestly, if there's ever anything concerning/worrying you, DON'T WORRY ABOUT BRINGING IT UP. we have v. similar opinions on the tid characters and books in general, so i doubt it would ever cause any problems re: play. i'm really glad that you're willing — and want — to develop tessa in ways that are realistic and in some ways, i guess, braver than anything that cc seems willing to do with her in canon — because tessa is a strong character, even if cc doesn't always do a good job of portraying it.

(also lmao, i will be so entertained if tessa ends up getting over will before he gets over her. BUT THAT'S NOT REALLY RELATED TO ANYTHING CONCRIT-Y.)

i'm so happy that you enjoy playing her and yes, i'm really glad as well that will's no longer at a point where he's basically just ignoring tessa. though i also think that it was really interesting to see that play out and that it's influenced her perception of him considerably, so it was def. not a bad thing that he used to be from a different canon point. but i think maybe now, especially if tessa develops the way that i want her to, they can eventually learn to at least be friends and that would be pretty damn fantastic for these two characters, i think, so— yeah. we've talked about her characterisation and clockwork prince and developments a lot and i'm pretty happy with my headspace regarding tessa at the moment, and i'm so so glad that we agree on the main issues with the canon ;; i think i'll go re-read passages of CA to make sure her voice is properly hers, but ... for the most part, i'm happy with her.
